Watashi ga Motenai no wa dou Kangaetemo Omaera ga Warui! (First Impressions)

Life SUCKS!

Also known as “Spaghetti Spilling: The Anime.”

;_;
I’ve read the manga for this series a long time ago, and as painful as it was to watch Tomoko fail countless times to become popular (in the same vein as watching the main character from the Boys on the Run manga fail time and time again because life just like him), I enjoyed reading it because of its genuine humor and subject matter. Recently, I’ve caught up to the most recent episode of the summer season’s anime adaptation of this manga series. Did the anime succeed at successfully adapting it? Yes, I’d say that it did – I love the anime just as much as I love the manga.

The funny thing about Kyoto Animation

We have to continue our anime, Kyon!

I realize that I may be beating a dead horse, but I’m still (after all of these years) baffled at KyoAni’s business practices. They’re just so bizarre and simply do not match what your typical business-minded person would think of when you say “making a profit from popularity.”

This is seriously one of the ONLY times where I wished a company would milk their popular products, yet they don’t! They just don’t want my money. Do they like money? Because they don’t like mine.

WHAT AN WARWORM

WHY CAN”T I GET THE ENDING THEME OUT OF MY HEAD?

Seriously, I like the first two episodes so far, but I doubt the actual content will contain anything that will stick to my head longer than the flippin’ ending theme.

If the Momoiro Clover Z girls had the desire to control the minds of the masses, they might very well could, I say. 😡 Dammit, I swear every year there’s a new earworm, and I don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing. For sure, it’s the same type of earworm in the vein of “Motekke! Sailor Fuku!”, in that the earlier parts of the song are the most likely to get stuck in your head.

K-ON! – 01

neet-cropped-resized

The wait for more Lord Haruhi brings along quite a handful of pain towards my faith in Haru-ism, but it’s really just a minor problem when Kyoto Animation keeps on churning out more and more win series to calm my patience down (No, Munto doesn’t count). As a slice-of-life fan, I just can’t get enough of Kyoto Animation making these comedy series with characters doing things that are just win. Of course, with K-ON!, my cohort Steven got an impression that it was the bastard child of Haruhi + Lucky Star, yet good enough to stand out by itself as another one of Kyoto ANimation’s brilliant adaptations. The results? Absolutely fantastic!

❤ Yui.

And I also applaud them for producing an anime which has inspired a new, creative name for the blog, Keiongaku ♪ 軽 ♪ 音 ♪ 楽 ♪. Seriously, The Otaku Spot was a lame name.

The Lucky 7 Anime Gimmicks. Learn them. Love them. Hate them.

1. moéblobs
moéblob ‘mō-ā-ˈbläb noun, moéblobs
moéblob

noun
A person, usually a female character, that is considered cute and/or beautiful by many (“moé”), usually men. However, most of the time, they serve no purpose to the overall story and are created solely for the purpose of inducing erections for adolescents going under puberty, horny men, and/or 30-year-old virgins (see: fanservice) and in some instances, lolicons (see: loli). In rare cases, they are guys (see: trap).

Example: Mikuru Asahina from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya is a moéblob.

Not to be confused with moéblob ANIME, which are usually filled with a shitload of win if you’re looking for cute stuff.

Example: Potemayo is a moéblob anime.

Characters of 2007

Characters of 2007... Ironically, two out of three of these characters weren't actually given any roles in any anime this year

A lot of us are looking back at which series are the most memorable this year for a variety of reasons – the quality of the storytelling, originality, niche gimmicks (moé, lolita, Shōtarō-characters, A Drill That Will Pierce Through The Heavens, unnatural boob measurements, etc.), and all that other shit. HOWEVER! To me, what really makes or breaks a series in being truly memorable, it all depends on the characters. In most cases, I would probably remember a series for a lifetime based solely on the characters (or a specific character) rather than the quality of the storyline or how deep it is (of course, if it’s THAT good than it’ll probably be the other way around!). The story could be utter crap for all I care and I’d still remember it if I really like the cast and their character dynamics. In my opinion, if an anime/manga has a story/concept that’s as cliché or horrible as saving a princess who gets her butt kidnapped by an evil witch/evil giant turtle yet has some top-notched character dynamics, then it would probably rank at the top of my list of favorite anime. Likewise, if the story is built FANTASTICALLY yet the characters are flat out boring, then it wouldn’t leave as much of an impression on me despite it having an excellent plot.

Or the character could be just be an utter jackass and the series will be memorable based on how much I wanted to shove a knife down their throat and throw him/her (most likely a HIM…) into a pit of acid…

To get down to business, this post will chronicle some of the characters that has made a big impression on me this year. Based on categories ranging from good to bad to OMG I WANT TO RIP HIS EYES OUT THAT DAMN MAKOTO, the cutest to the most inspiring to THE MOST SUPERLY AWESOME BADASS THAT HAS EVER WALKED DOWN THE PATH OF ANIMU… You name it.

(I’m obviously leaving Bacanno! out of this, since honestly, I can’t choose just one notable person from its large cast of characters)
